Also from online it takes 4-6 weeks for the meds to have full effect, so 2 weeks is like,, yes, , all of this sounds very good indeed

Medication after just one visit and with anxiety disorder is kinda a lot tbh. Not going to question him, but maybe a second opinion won't hurt?

i'm actually thinking the same
this is not with mental health, but i got a bad kidney and everytime i visit the hospital (once a year) ALL the doctor have very different opinions, some wanna remove it right away, some wanna try to fix it, some thinks it shouldn't be touched, some is like that is all up to you.

I hope that it'll help you, though this diagnosis seems a bit too much after one visit?
but anyway, I hope for the best for you with those tics

I had a very bad twitching eye when I was in middle school, my parents even had the doctors do a test for neurological damage, but everything looked ok, so they told me it was stress and sent me my way. It eventually stopped after 6 months and only rarely re-occurs.

I didnt even think that it was strange to get meds n a diagnosis like that on visit one since this is obviously my first time ever doing anything like this... I'll bring it up w my mom

well basically psychiatrists are few and far in between here/ they almost don't exist here and the ones that do just wanna prescribe meds. The plan is see how this works out n follow the plan and see what happens since we really have no other options

I've been told that my anxiety is the cause of my tics and stuttering!
I was also told that you can work through it with therapy and possibly medication, and eventually get them to go away, I guess?

I'm glad you're taking your mental health seriously! <3
Feel free to shoot me a PM if you ever need to talk.

Yeah, it's a lot after one appointment, but it does happen? If you show enough symptoms/ if your symptoms are severe enough, it's silly to postpone getting the help you need.

It could be a working-diagnosis (Idk if that is what it's called in English  :I) ? Like, a "This is what we believe you have, so we'll work from this perspective" .
