because straight men are incapable of being friends with women without wanting to fuck them and if they say otherwise they're lying LMAO

the girl best friend will jus be someone they hold a torch for and can't have
i read somewhere that men tend to falsely think that they're falling in love with their female friends because they're not used to getting that kind of affection from their male friends. (because it's considered gay for male friends to show any sort of affection)

and so they often can't tell the difference between romantic love and platonic love.

if that makes sense?

Idk?

Two of my best friends are dudes, we're like a Lil trio who do everything together, we playfight, cuddle, hold hands, etc, I basically live with one of them because we're hanging out together every day.

BUT back when one of them had a girlfriend, I asked him what she thought of our friendship because I genuinely didn't want her to feel upset or hurt. He told me she was fine with it, and when I asked her as well she told me she didn't mind.

I feel like it's just about mutual respect? Respect both your best friend AND their partners boundaries, and respect the fact that your partner has close friends?

why are men like that
why must i like penis when a lot are just dickheads with no dick
My ex used to be extremely possesive in the start and insecure/jealous around my guy friends which didnt make sense since he had mainly friends who are girls (but he ended up cheating so siike) ??
Same man.
Usually it's the dudes who r jealous af, who cheat lol.
Quite ironic.
yeah.
if a person is accusing you of something pretty Specific and you haven't done everything like it ever, they are usually talking about themselves.....

haven't y'all ever been the harmless girl best friend in these scenarios?
like, if your dude is so untrustworthy, or you are so paranoid, that you can't let them have a girl best friend, then clearly the relationship is doomed and no amount of forcing them to dump their friends will save it.

A female friend is no issue imo but just highly depends on what type of friendship they have

If it's like someone else here mentioned with cuddles and holding hands? Nope not dating a dude who does that

not dating a dude who does that is logical, and makes way more sense than dating them and then expecting them to dump their friends for sure. lol
I don't understand why so many folks try to force people to be compatible with them, like if you can't accept someone for who they are, then they ain't your type.

That was me, I believe.

I also wrote in my post abt how I asked both my friend and their partner about how they felt, as I didn't want to overstep any boundaries. As I said, I believe it's about mutual respect? If they or their partner had told me they felt uncomfortable, I would've stopped immediately.

Don't date men who are too immature and emotionally undeveloped that they don't understand platonic love.
I'm gonna start using this line with my friends lol

Yeah I've had guy friends I've had relationships like that with, but if it bothered a partner I wouldn't do it - but there's a difference between telling a partner a behavior is bothering them and saying they can't be friends with their best friends anymore.

Agree that nobody should make someone ditch their bestfriend in fear of their partner being a cheater/having thing for em. You may find out it's like platonic and the gut feeling was wrong (that can happen).
If I even made my ex leave his girl bestfriend...  He'd still would want to cheat or had interest etc and it's just doomed anyways. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ trust is important and i did - and if it's broken it's then you gotta say bye-bye.

Exactly!

I've never understood how some people feel justified in wanting their partner to almost completely "isolate" themselves from their friends, just because they feel jealous.

Dating shouldn't mean you don't get to have any friends.
Just communicate? lol.
