no. that's just finnish thing. they give quetiapine or mirtazapine to everyone with sleeping problems. literally the first thing the do
idk if they do this in other countries , i guess not since people seems to be astonished
they give quetiapine for sleep in norway too, and vallergan
yeaa. at least quetiapine is not recommend for sleeping at all any more tho, but they still do that..
it's rly weird honestly,, as some1 who uses it for bipolar there is nothing in the med making me able to sleep, i have a separate pill for that

melatonin is way better than anti-psychotics, especially the hell drug that quetiapine is.

what dose you take? it is indeed sedative med. when it's taken for sleep the dosage is only like 25mg or even less and for some reason the less you take the more tiring it is

It feels pretty extreme that their go-to is a antipsychotic like thats pretty heavy stuff
where i live the first sleeping pill they will give u is melatonin which is very ”natural” and has like no side effects cuz all it does is making ur body produce the thing that makes us sleepy that we naturally have in our body
it's the trend in finland, quetiapine is the #1 drug they prescribe for insomnia nowadays :/ tho they would probably suggest melatonin first but i'm already using that

Melatonin doesn't do shit for me either no matter how high dose I take, and I don't rlly get tired/sleepy, even when im awake way too long, but what works for me is just sleep max 5 hours a night and maybe I can fall asleep within half an hour of laying there. Also makes me less tired, I have tried sleeping 8 hours the past nights and I feel absolutely dead compared to how I normally feel

I take quetiapine for sleeping, I think it helps if I take 3-4 at a time, but anything less than that just gives me.. well, nothing.

yea they gave it in high doses for sleep to almost everyone at the psych ward i was in, I think they basically used it as a sedative so we would be calm throughout our stay
it felt weird knowing its not recommended for sleep anymore
lmao is that even legal
