macs are only worth it if you don't play games or intend to do anything besides maybe like casually browse the internet and use adobe's software
most apps are unsupported besides their own

I had a bad experience with a MacBook Air and I was like I will never ever buy one. Ended up getting one and it's honestly not that bad. It's pretty cheap in relation to their other products.
i'd get it if you're just intending to do schoolwork or play the sims.

I thought about getting the basic version of the new one with the M1 processor (8cores tho), because it has no fans and my noise sensitive brain could work in peace but also apple kinda sucks and it's soo expensive.
i have the MacBook Pro with the m1 processor and no fans and I highly recommend this version! compared to our old Mac it doesn't heat up at all (or like it only starts heating up when it's 30*C) and it just doesn't make any noises <333
also the system itself works fast - but gotta say our other MacBook is old so maybe it's why it just slowed down and now comparing both mine seems so much faster
What do you use it for (what workload?) did you have any problem with running programs?

I use my mom's 5 year old hp envy and it is so loud and it had this preinstalled keylog maleware that hp just 'forgot' to remove before distribution so I don't trust hp as a brand anymore.
so I'm mainly using it for uni - aka at least 4 hours a day
I mostly use my uni page, word, power point, and just google overall
but also lots of YouTube and Netflix lol
other than those apps/sites I haven't had the chance to use it for stuff like iMovie, but I really want to try in a week when my exams are over cause iMovie on our old MacBook led it to heat up and being super loud with its fans

I totally understand that and wouldn't want an hp after that either :/
