Like I know it wasn't a better time, for one thing people were way less accepting of lgbt people so I would've had a bad time if I were older but also popular music at the time was so much fun, the dress code was just wear whatever and then put on three more layers just to be sure which is just. Everything was too much, that's the charm. A few years ago I would've agreed with you because the fashion was objectively bad but now I see the appeal. The messy, spikey hair thing though? And the mop head thing? Cannot get behind that, that shit was a personal attack against all that is good and pure.
