They want you to be sober because sometimes symptoms will improve or go away when you’re sober. If you’re an addict they can’t tell if you’re acting a certain way because you’re high or if it’s just how you are. Like it makes sense to get clean first and eliminate the addiction as a possible explanation for the behavior or feelings. If you get diagnosed while you’re not sober you’re more likely to be misdiagnosed because of the substance abuse disorder. Typically they treat addiction before anything else. Like ideally they would do both since many disorders cause substance use issues but that’s just not how it’s done.
If im already diagnosed tho, is it the same if they just wanna check if I have it still. I don't rlly notice any difference in regards to those on my off periods and my on periods but I can't rlly say that to them n expect them to believe me ouff lol

If I ever go honestly, idk why I need to if I don't feel any different/worse symptom wise than when I got the diagnoses, like would they even remove them if I just never went?.? I doubt it, and if they r gonna remove them my gp would probably contact me anyway to see if I wanted them removed or if I want a reevaluation first or what. If they r not braindead
