I've heard great things about focalin, my doctor said it probably wouldn't be like, totally awful for me, but since I had genetic markers that show it'd likely be less-effective, she started me on adderall (unfortunately there's really no way to determine on a genetic test how the adderall class will effect folks yet)
tbh I just think my dose isn't high enough, I can tell it helps with some things, but other symptoms are legit getting worse
like the anxiety is way down, but my anxiety kept my forgetfulness in check
10mg is a bit low for adhd meds. A good starting point to see how it affects you though.
I can't remember right off the bat, but mine is either 20 or 30mg.

Idk if your doc mentioned it, but a lil warning from someone who's been on the stuff for like 7 years. If you forget a dose you may not feel so great. I think it has to do with developing a bit of a dependence to the meds.
Yeah 10mg is a children's dose, haha, but she said that's where they start folks just because of it being an amphetamine, and how it can effect your heart and blood pressure. I also already had a lot of trouble with appetite so she didn't wanna put me on extended-release because she was hoping I'd be able to eat between morning and evening doses, but unfortunately it wears off pretty fast.

And yeah...I do forget to take them, or choose not to some days, and I need to be better about it.

I really dont understand why in the US and some other places continue to prescript adderall or similars. Like i've seen videos of people under the influence of adderall and i dont really think it is good for the body and the brain, it feels like they are on drugs.

I take Rubifen and it works quite well, but you need to take it everyday. I was diagnosed when I was 9 and honetly if it werent for the medication (and of course hard work) I wouldn't have been able to go to uni. Now I take what my neurologist calls a "baby dose", as little as possible, and I'm doing quite well at uni. And of course I dont have big tick problems.
Adderall can be hard stuff, but the right dosage and a correct diagnosis and it works for some people.
Adderall should only cause a high if you don't have ADHD or you're taking too much.

Yeah, not sure if it'll be the same bc different meds. But I sorta get "withdrawal" if I miss. It's mostly just fatigue rly.

I mean if you actually need it, you don't "feel like you're on drugs" lol
I'm not "under the influence" of anything, it literally just allows my brain to use the dopamine everyone elses brain doesn't need help with lol

I googled rubifen, it's also a stimulant, just in a different class, it's basically ritalin. I'm not able to take that due to info from a genetic test. Different bodies process things differently.

Still I think it is too much. I prefer mines that are not an amphetamine derivative. But well whatever works for people the better

when i was in college i used to crush up and snort adderall to get high, and it literally didn't work and I'd do a puzzle and fall asleep while all my friends were living their best lives
I couldn't even get high from cocaine

No. ADHD can be comorbid w/ a tic related disorder or if you're on Adderall it could be a side effect.

Fair enough, I'm on dexmethylphenidate myself (Focalin). Just wanted to point out that it's very likely the videos are either someone was overprescribed or someone w/o a diagnosis got it illegally and thought it'd be no different than drinking a cup of coffee or caffeinated soda.

Yeah I understand, . I didn't knew there were also some genetic issues. Glad at least adderall works well for you! Whatever works for people the best, just hope it does not have big side effects

I'm also super worried about my blood pressure because normally it's low, or perfect, and when I was at the pain management clinic the other day, it came out as pretty high! and it was my first time having my blood pressure taken since starting meds (but I was only about 3 days into them)
but they used a blood pressure cuff that went on my wrist instead of my upper arm, and I feel like that cannot be as accurate.

Methylphenidate/Dexmethylphenidate is Ritalin, Focalin, etc...
Adderall uses Amphetamine or Dextroamphetamine.

Yeah I guess so, peopel use it as a drug sometimes, dont know why honestly, I cant imagine how big that must affect a normal functioning brain. I'm also on methylphenidate.
