Someone who can admit their mistakes, is empathetic, gets shit done and is always eager to live and learn. Common sense and doesn't care a shit about what anyone else thinks

its hard to narrow this down but i will try
open-mindedness is the biggest thing for me - you can obviously have your beliefs and believe in them, but never changing anything about them, always thinking you (or others with the same ideas as you) are 100% correct without even considering other possibilities/other peoples ideas is very dumb in my eyes. think someone who form opinions based on some things, and then later finds themselves faced with valid criticism, which they end up just brushing aside, unable to consider that their own ideas are flawed (i think conservativism fails in its inability to be open minded, therefore i often struggle to find very conservative people intelligent)

i also very much value being nice to others as an intelligent trait - truly smart people (in my opinion) knows that other people are important, and they do not have a need to "prove" that they are smart by acting like a dickhead to the people around them. they do not undervalue people who are "less" then them because they realise that people are different and people have different values (they understand why people are the way they are, and know how to approach them in a non-hostile way) (this also falls back to the conservative thing, and also ties in to open-mindedness so it is becoming obvious that is the primary trait that i value in people lol)
also just in general, if someone is an edgelord with no compassion for others i do not think they are smart
Agreed 100%
Like everything you wrote is amazing

Ppl who know a lot, has common sense and can think deeper abt stuff they learn (have their own thoughts rlly),
I don't consider ppl that know a lot because they study a lot, but can't think outside what they have learned (so bad at thinking own thoughts, extrapolating from the info they already know) smart
Honestly to me smart ppl don't even have to know a lot, but they are able to grasp things quickly when something is explained to them, and can still form own opinions and thoughts around it despite not being that well knowledged in the area. Also self insight, being able to see own strenghts and weaknesses without letting the emotional get in the way

Also agreed
I just wanna add, there is times when you study something just because you have too so you don't even form your opinion on it as it's not really interesting to you. This also happens when you have bad professors who hate there jobs and just wanna grade you so they give you 5 paragraphs to learn like a poem lol

Uh but caring about what people think can be connected to personality.

Another topic!
IQ tests- is it more like problem solving test or does it really define how smart you are in all the smart aspects?

Aren't they usually about problem solving?

In some ways I agree, in some ways not. I would see it as a sign of a smart person if someone isn't insecure in relations to others or doesn't care what people think of them, because they realize it doesn't matter etc etc. Mental illness would be a different aspect, but

Oh, and another one!
Is a person making grammatic mistakes in English dumb? Even if it's not persons first language?

Problem solving mostly, but to me being good at problem solving (including common sense too into problem solving now) is one of the most important aspects to being smart I think hm.

Yea it defines how smart you are on just that one factor.... Maybe I am phrasing the question wrong. I will come back to it and fix it.

Yeah that's the reason why I don't trust those tests
it's always just about problem solving
no other aspect of IQ (which I do think does count)
