i have this too exactly, ive actually never met anyone who experiences this before. everyone ive told about this irl has just been like lol wtf. very happy to find out ppl on vp experience this too. anyway i recommend listening to visualization-meditation videos on youtube to fall asleep to (if visualization works for you, that is)
I don't know what it is, but I try to focus on a certain memory or situation to focus on isntead but sometimes it just shows up anyway inbetween

Yeah sure, but I rarely have my phone in my bed cus its usually on the coach underneath my bed (bunk bed? With couch underneath)

youtu.be/69o0P7s8GHE this has helped me a lot to fall asleep. its only 1 hour as well, so doesnt drain your phone battery that much if you dont have the option to charge your phone while having it in your bed (but if you have a bad battery it will probably drain it anyway)

Video games is relatable, I always "play" a gay imside my head when I sleep, the last game I played before I went to sleep. Uauslley I make up a nonogram in my head and play it lol its very weird but it doesn't keep me from falling asleep so its fine

There's actually timer apps that can put an app to sleep so it doesn't keep running youtube all night. I use an app called super simple sleep timer and you can choose which app you want to put to sleep and in how many mins. I found it pretty useful for youtube although a handful of times it kept running youtube anyway  but it hasn't happened in a long while.
