i dont rly have any experiences to share but might as well

i was on sertraline for like 15 minutes (ok, a month i think it was) i hated that i was prescribed it after literally only one very short talk with a doctor who didn't even actually seem to think i needed it. it was such a low dose it didn't do anything except give me some lowkey side-effects that i was probably just overthinking because i was in my hypochondriac era (weird feeling in my throat mainly???? idk i don't fully remember anymore) (also as a sidenote i also got a referral to psych and when i told the person i got to talk to there that i'd read the booklet thing with side-effects he Laughed at me for it???????????) and i lost the v v tiny amount of sex drive i had lol. and kinda also the ability to cry iirc?

but like i said it was only a month so not at all enough time to judge what it might have actually done for/to me, both in terms of side-effects and like.... good things

and also good luck!!!
doesn't everyone read the leaflet ? that's what it's there for

I've tried a few kinds of meds with different side effects, but the few two were under lockdown, so it's hard to tell if they caused me to gain weight or simply 'covid weight gain' lol.

Reviews:
Citalopram: Worked great for anxiety, not so much depression - made me dissociate a lot, no sex drive at all
Lamotrigin + Citalopram: Same as before, no extra side effects
Brintellix:  Made me feel sick, but regular sex drive came back - treated depression well, but not anxiety
Duloxetin (same as cymbalta, but another brand): Was incredibly tired the first 1 month+ of being on it, but afterwards no side effects. Treated depression as well as anxiety

Idk if that's helpful, but that was my journey of finding the right medication. Took over a year, but that was mostly due to the shitty doctors I had until I moved to a bigger city. It was a really tough road to get here, but now I'm finally happy and feel hopeful again. I hope you will get there eventually too

Ah I took Sertraline a few years ago,  had a lot of side effects. In the beginning I had a lot of heart palpitations, my stomach would feel weird and that went away after a few weeks. They started upping the dose to the max and I was going off worse than before, my sex drive was gone, I didn’t feel like eating at all and I was heavily underweight because of that, you could see my bones. It also made me more irritable and nervous and my hands and mind were shaking a lot. I couldn’t sleep because of it, so they prescriped me sleeping pills. I was in a psychiatry back then but idk, they didn’t notice much of it since I was already taking them when I checked in. They wanted to switch my meds to abilify when I told them that I was doing worse (told them weeks before already, but they claimed that I needed to take it at least 6 weeks to fully see if it actually works) I was done with their bullshit, got out of the psychiatry and gradually quit the meds on my own. Hmm yeah not such a great experience for me

they didn’t really do much for me, but everyone is different, for some they’re ok for some they’re not. You’re a bit of a guinea pig at this stage and if it’s not for you, they’ll try other meds until you find the right one

i'm on sertraline, quetiapine and oxazepam and was on lyrica before.

i really like sertraline although hard to cum. Quetiapine is alright, not the best and sometimes gives me restless legs but it helps. Love oxazepam. Hated lyrica. Made me super tired and dizzy in mornings and I didn't like that i couldn't drink if i took it. Also the withdrawal symptoms were awful.

I'm also on a few other brainybrain medications that affect my mental health so don't really know how these would work on somebody that doesn't take those meds though

Im on setraline and honestly i feel like it's not doing crazy much, I'm on the lowest dose too though. I had some side effects at the start which was normal, but I dont have any now.

It's so different how u react to medicine though.
