Only changing the tire
and that was enough.
I don’t like getting greasy
or breaking my nails
I can't grow nails to save my life so that's not an issue
I'm definitely not a fan of the way the grease feels either - but I also think it makes me look kinda hot lol
Mine aren’t overly long
because I don’t want to
pinch/scratch patients
so when they break it’s ugh

I would be open to learning tho
just so I could call out any mechanic
who tries to jack me for unnecessary repairs
That's kinda how my mom was, she would learn enough to not be able to get jerked around due to ignorance.
it's more than most folks do

Ugh I feel like woman are such a taken advantage of client in the automotive industry
one time I was buying brakes for my geo and the guy at the auto parts store made a comment about how women wear the brakes on cars down faster than men and I said "as cool of a party trick as that would be, I do not drive the car with my genitals" or something along those lines

anyways he had no response lol

but also, where I live, you can't really be a shady mechanic and keep customers, because word would spread too fast.
I ain't had a mechanic try to pull one over on me before.

I really like the one I go to when I can't fix something on my own
he always explains in detail what he did, sometimes shows me pictures when its relevant.
he's also super familiar with my car and other "vintage" Toyotas, and is super honest about what repairs are and aren't important/worth it on a car as old as mine.
he's even checked my own repair work before
he's also got a small junkyard and sometimes when he's working on my car and sees something plastic that's busted off - like a knob or compartment, he'll go find a piece that fits mine just to be nice.

also one time he let me put firecrackers under the hood of one of them junkyard cars and that was pretty fun lol

I don't have a car but like the family cars we just put at the car fixing place. Only thing I can remember my dad ever doing is putting the polish color on that looks like a tiny nail polishcus it was messed up a little bit. And mby changing the tires from winter to summer etc

Ok got the battery replaced and it's now starting

All I gotta do is put some coolant in it, it's almost out

Keep an eye on that, coolant shouldn't get low like that. Some loss isn't super alarming but its not normal to be almost out.
And definitely don't drive it until its filled to a normal level, have someone pick some up for you.

does your neighbor know much about cars or just like, basic stuff?

My radiator recently exploded while I was outta town and I had to pay some toyota-bro to fix it in a parking lot for me lol
I don't want that to happen to you

You'll get another chance.

My friend said her motorcycle takes way more upper body strength to keep up than she expected.
