i'd think in this case the majority are having an episode over skin color considering the movie isn't even out yet :') i've seen similar arguments often with comic book adaptations, and yet in the end those movies/tv series have done considerably well from what i've seen. the disney live action remakes have all sucked imo tho, so no doubt a fraction of the dislikes come from that pov, but i think they should watch the movie first to actually make the final call

The point is that people would love it more if they stopped swapping colors to get people to watch the movies. People wants to see more original stories and so on, the live action remakes has been bad revived for years. Many are wondering why its so hard to look up contents and stories and so on and create something new. No one says that the black people should not have their own movies or series.Ā 

It would be one thing if they created a new mermaid with an new adventure and a new cast.
How do you think a movie about Martin Luther King would be if they made him white?
I dont understand why you must race swap a character if you have strong and beloved moves and stories about black people from the start.
