what i would do is tell everyone im gonna stay and then leave when shit gets too hard a few months later
what is it that i'm not understanding honestly
Personality changes for some, becoming abusive/angry and bla bla bla, becoming depressed, mental illness in general like ptsd, hard to deal with. Depends entirely on the person tho, for me, just too inconvenient lol

Exactly! I imagine it about 10 times tougher, not having the nurse and the pay!

I can’t perpetuate the lie lol
Idk, depending on the severity of the injury
if there’s no possibility of hooking up
I can’t say that I would remain faithful

i had to take care of my late grandma, who spent 10 years bedridden. staying in the same room as her, as young as 12 and putting a pee cup under her so she can pee, helping her go to toilet etc.
and had to endure my mom who went nutz bc of years of having to take care of her...
i would say no, not probably. not going to spend another 10 years doing it. i want to live my life now.
but my current SO, i love him. so i cannot entirely say no. but i can also not promise that i would be there for a lifetime. my trauma is too big for it
Hmm

eventually i would leave but i don't have any reasonable arguments for it

its a hard decision. they may feel like a burden, so you have to also make sure that your so gets help for any mental health issue that comes w the trauma. also the costs are quite high, depending on where you live and how much help you can get. there's going to be physical complications, lets say you will have to help them to do lots of things, and it might not be as cute as you could think lol.. so its something you gotta think abt n talk with your so.
personally, if i had the means to make sure that my so gets everything they need in order to be able to live nicely and with dignity, then id still be there. feelings dont change bc of an accident

well, I guess for a few people it does affect their ability for sexual performance and that can be a downfall for a relationship when all of a sudden the sexual needs and desires can't be met and fulfilled anymore
it poses an issue for a whole lot of couples - doesn't mean being a quadripledgic makes it impossible to have a fulfilling sex life - far from it. but it also requires a different view on sex outside from the "he can get a boner and penetrate someone" aspect of it
just to be very blunt about it, this might not be a reason for a bunch of the people saying no, but it definitely is a reason for some people in this world
because yeah, the sexual aspect of the relationship will be different, even if the downstairs equipment is still fully working and it's just the legs as such that don't work anymore
but since many consider sex and additionally sex with disabled people to be so very tabu and forbidden ... it's just not talked about
