No its just gross that its been in someones house or been touched by another person, even if its not dirty or antyhing, it FEELS dirty and I can't deal w it
I did actually buy an eyeshadow palette secondhand (only swatched rlly) because the price would be too insane if I was going to import it myself, and it feels gross but I can live w it and eventually I will be ok w it, but it feels yuck
i think makeup is the only thing i wouldnt buy second hand even for myself, unless it was unopened new in packaging, but thats from a bacteria pov
Yeah I agree, but I figure as long as its only swatched and I sanitize it first its fine

yes i have received and given second hand items

no i'm not opposed to either

i also work at a second hand store so i kinda buy almost everything not food related there at this point XD and i guess for me i just figure why would i spend like 10x as much to get them the same thing new if it's not dirty or broken? or something that you know they would like but it's expensive and you would never spend that much to get it for them new. also you can find really weird/random things looking at second hand stores that you would never think to look for or find in a normal store in my experience

I've never gifted or been gifted a second hand item but I don't see what's wrong with it, if anything you could probably find something a lot more interesting and unique in second hand shops I feel

do you gift/have you gifted someone used/thrifted/second hand gifts for christmas?
Yes. I gave my sister a ps2 a few years back to play buzz on. Because they don't produce these fuckers anymore I had to find one used with all of the games. We're also doing gift game ??? Package game ?? This year and most of the gifts I come with are thrifted because I found some funny thrifted gifts.

have you received used/thrifted/second hand gifts for christmas?
No. I wouldn't mind though, and this year I've added thrifted stuff to my wishlist as well.

are you opposed to gifting somone used/thrifted/second hand gifts for christmas - if yes why?
No. I would want to check with the person first whether or not they would be angry about it, but I wouldn't mind gifting someone thrifted stuff, if it meant I could give them the gift they really wanted while still keeping the budget, compared to buying a gift they might not really want anyway and won't be as happy about.

are you opposed to receiving used/thrifted/second hand gifts for christmas - if yes why
No. With the same reasoning as above: if it means I can get some of the stuff I really want inside the budget people buy gifts for it's fine. Also I have a few things on my wl you can't buy from new anyway.

Buying makeup second hand is almost as bad as buying underwear second hand to me. Even if you tell me that it's sanitary because it's thoroughly cleaned/watched or whatever.. That's just gross to me, sorry

I wouldn't mind recieving (other) second hand gifts though if it's casually like "i found this at a thrift-store and i thought you'd like it, do you want it?" thenn sure i will accept it but wrapping it in paper and gifting it as a christmas gift (or any other celebration) , i would think that's a bit much! If the person cares about the environment or something I'd rather recieve a gift-card, lotterytickets, homemade baked goods or nothing at all.

no to the first 2 questions afaik
but i wouldnt mind, if it was something nice. i have a p small list of things i want as gifts anyway so it'd have to be like a figurine, a cute vintage mug or some useful tool or something, all of those r fine as second hand.

i feel like there's a difference between trifted and second hand too, i give my own pre-owned stuff away as gifts all the time but finding a trifted item requires some effort and more consideration i guess, so it's different to me

do you gift/have you gifted someone used/thrifted/second hand gifts for christmas

Twice, the first time I gave away half my wardrobe to a friend of mine that I knew loved my clothes as their quality was great, they fit amazingly and she borrowed them a few times and that's where I got the idea from. it was mostly jeans as me and her both had and have an issue with finding good fitting jeans as we're both were skinny but also very curvy, big hips small waist type of thing and I somehow found this store that had AMAZING jeans that just fit right but could not afford a lot, so bought a few and when I could get more the store was not there anymore so yee sad.
I gained some weight and instead of throwing them away because some of them were like not worn out or in a bad condition at all, so I asked her since it's a LOT of clothes if it'll be suitable as a gift she at first was like "huh, that's an interesting idea" and then she was so happy and was just like "yes??? omg thank you"
my only other Christian friend in here lol

The second I gave away a few electric devices that were used by me, the receivers were really happy with them.

have you received used/thrifted/second hand gifts for christmas
Hmm nope, then again it has been ages since I got to participate in this tradition as no one rlly celebrates it here lol

are you opposed to gifting somone used/thrifted/second hand gifts for christmas - if yes why
Hell no, a good item that is nice in quality, can be used for years more, and the other person needs\wants? I think it's a lovely idea and MUCH better than idk, buying them the regular gift that you can get everyone and is on every list online of "ideas of what to get to a friend as a gift"
and in general if I actually gift someone something it is always very specific and personalized.

are you opposed to receiving used/thrifted/second hand gifts for christmas - if yes why
Same as the one before,  I think it's a good idea to give stuff away and I would not be opposed to getting something that I'd be able to actually use and is in good condition.

The only exception would be anything that is not sanitary and hygieniclike underwear and I'd say makeup but I don't use it lol
but ye besides that? a good wash and it's as good as new.

I don't believe i been gifted anything second hand, if so i can't remember. But I am personally not opposed to it.

I haven't gifted anything second hand either and honestly i think it depends what i thrifted because i no doubt wouldn't be opposed to go look for figurines and collectables second hand for my family. I don't gift clothes, so i wouldn't really be thrifting nor gifting those anyways.

Actually idk if it counts, but my mom got these free crochet things and had a bunch of yarn that was just laying around for so long, some she had used too and unraveled and she gifted me all of it and i been more than happy with it.
