It’s mad disrespectful so
I’ve never cursed in front of

I started in middle school.

Some of me were 8-9 years old in 2015 and I have always talked like this with this year I am turning 17 because of many swear words that I know in Spanish and some in English looool 🤭

ooh this is so bad lol I think I was around 6 cause my sister told me about it. I mean my whole family swears in Spanish, but they stopped caring about me doing it once I turned 16 just need to watch it in public though. I apologize in advanced to people that aren't family or close friends for swearing though.

I started saying "crap" and "suck" when I was like 8 or 9. I started saying all the others when I was 12.

I started around 14/15, but my parents were not happy about it. So I got reprimanded a lot, but it didn't stick. Now I have a pretty foul language depending on my mood and I just don't care.

(Maybe even started earlier than that on some words, but honestly, saying something is shitty does not qualify as cussing in my world, so I don't really have a clear dataset on when I started to use those words. Probably around 12/13.)

Is this an American thing? This feels like an American thing. Y'all have a weird vibe with your parents, don't interact with them like people. It's kinda sad.

Some words in Spanish, some are considered as insults or offensive to third parties, be careful when saying that

why would keeping a generally respectful tone towards your parent/w your parents present be an american thing, let alone a weird thing

I stumbled over the "cursing in front of someone being disrespectful" a bit as well
like if you don't cuss out a person but just have a foul language in their vincinity, I (and neither anyone in my family) would consider it disrespectful to them
as far as I observed it in Germany and Luxembourg, cussing is only considered disrespectful if you're in a very controlled hierarchic setting - like doing so in front of your boss at work is a nono, but depending on the matter it's ok in front of co-workers, especially if it's not to degrade another person or their actions. though then again, you wouldn't do it in front of someone of a certain age and up, no matter their relationship with them, just because they have a different cultural understanding of the use of those words, due to them growing up in times with a stronger censure of certain language in public discourse and social functions.
It's very much a thing of setting, surrounding and reason and not something always considered disrespectful where I'm from, so I did have the same reaction as Alam
but then again, this also could just be a cultural thing and Alam and me are the odd one's out

But those differences are to be found everywhere

My brother's girlfriend is Spanish and she told us that a lot of the common latin american spanish would be deemed highly inappropriate if used in Spain, despite it being just regular everyday words in for instance Argentinia.
(As an example, because I don't remember the curse word one she gave, in latin american spanish you can say mami or papi as an endearment to people you're very close with like family or partners. But using it in Spain is very raunchy if you don't use it towards your actual parents.)
