i 100% agree, i was thinking that fanart where the characters are stylized enough that it is not a 1:1 redraw of the real person's face is valid, but then that made me ask myself "am i implying that people with more realistic styles are not allowed to draw ship fanart then"

..

i've seen so much AI generated stuff of the actors too... it's so wrong. but yeah i agree real person shipping is such a breach of boundaries and i think the people doing it need to take a step back and REALLY think about what they're doing.. yeah you don't know them and they don't know you blablabla but it's past the realm of fiction

idk cos like if u like drawing realistically thats not a problem, just like draw ur headcanon instead, dont reference the actor, or do but idk i would just try to make it not look like The Actor. cos that also just looks so uncanny to me

i feel like this sounds very controlling of me LMAO but idk. i guess its harder when the character is from a movie/tv show that wasnt based on books or something, bc then u never imagined them in ur head before they got cast? but still idk! id personally feel creepy and gross if i drew nsfw art of some stranger without their permission!

and omg ur right i never thought abt the implications of ai in all this....... ive thought about ppl ai generating stuff of celebrities but never of characters hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm but idk im vehemently anti current-popularized-use-of-ai (aka using chatgpt for everything and using generative ai to make ""art"" )

well what i have in mind comes from a show so there's no prior headcanon of what the characters looked like so... the actors are the only reference! but personally in general i prefer stylized art over too realistic art anyways cus if i want to look at their faces i'm gonna look at the source material.. i'd rather see how different artists interpret a person's features!!

well i think most of the time it'd be a bit difficult to get anyone's permission to draw nsfw of them JNHEGEJUHEHSBE

i mean i think the sims part is Fine if you do it privately just for yourself, but people post that publicly so.. yeah.. at least sims are too ugly to truly resemble real people 1:1 (sorry im anti sims now)

yeaa i getcha. im thinking of this one specific example of an artist who drew pretty realistically spiderman and deadpool and they like made the characters have some of the actors features but they didnt make them look like the Actor? it still just looked like The Character

and yea fdhgkdfg i just thought of like well im sure theres people commissioning people to draw them sexily? and i know an artist who draws pencil drawings of somewhat abstract sexual events and i think they accept people like sending them photos of themselves in such situations ????? and then they draw them. or its just commissions im not sure. either way thats what i thought about
