Yeah, and they hurt men almost as much as they do women, but women have support systems in place for when they do and men don't, not as much.
they hurt men and we should absolutely create support systems but when it comes to the power dynamics men still profit from those structures even if it hurts them too.
But making it a competition isn't helpful imo.
There needs to be a joint effort to review and analyse it and then work on it together which is hard because sooo many people still hold on to those structures and stereotypes it's a big mess.
There are hotlines and places to go for male victims of violence from partners (too few tho) and i think that's important because the shame is definitely there, that i agree.
Definitely, all of this, I agree one hundred percent. I do, however, question what benefit this has for lower middle class to working class men. I'd say a lot of that power and privilege belongs to upper middle class men and higher, if not mostly to the economic 1 percent, you know?
