i remember a goth girl getting blasted to hell by people for wearing dread extensions, because she was really ignorant about the nature of dreads and why it properly wasn't a good idea to wear them, when she's pasty white and well not poc.
psychara was her name. it went nasty.
i mean, dread extensions has the same intent as hair matted to look like dreads so i have the same opinion on it as i do ""white dreads""
what if your hair naturally matts in a way that looks like dreads, then? does that mean you're racist?

but shit no, we don't know what it's like because we're white and don't know a thing about discrimination
discrimination is not entirely the same as racism.
white people can know discrimination, we're just not discriminated against because we're white.

I really don't agree with the statement, that people aren't discriminated against because they're white. I am a readhaired person; and with that follows very, very light skin. I've ben called a bag of flour, freckleface, ghost, dead person and so on for all 18 years I have been alive. To say that I am not getting discriminated because I am white is really bullshit.

I know it's nothing compared to the discrimination black people go through, but it is still there.

I feel like this whole argument is going around in circles. I made one google search and had this completely explained to me - why are you so ignorant people? o.o

they're afraid of google and having to realise their own beliefs might not be the best.

What exactly is your definition of racism, for saying that calling non dread for dread is racist is not.

I wouldn't call myself ignorant for saying that a hairstyle isn't "owned" or "belongs" to a specific race.

Seems like it.

They don't even need to fully understand it right this minute, just understand that white and black discrimination is not the same.

I still want answers here. If you're white, and you just can't be bothered to use conditioner or brush your hair, and it naturally matts in a way that looks similar to dreads (ie it doesn't look like a fucking mat), does that mean you're racist? Because that's what it seems like to me when you discuss it, and it's hilarious.
