I'm from Luxembourg and I live in Germany and I can tell you, this is EXACTLY how they treat people (works like this in France too)
people in Germany usually don't know I'm basically an immigrant because I "look German", if I were from Italy or Portugal, this would be very much different, believe me - even worse when it's about Turkey
sure, the origins are slightly different than the whole sklavery issues in the US, but let's not forget how nearly all of Europe was very big in oppressing Africans and/or Asians during their colonial empire. it is still racism
