yup! the thicker yarns i use are usually a weight 5 or 6. i recently ordered a 7 and im very excited to try it!

omgg those needles look nice!! i really want some quality tools too, hence why im looking into tulip. rn im using cheap hooks and they already have scratches and doesnt feel smooth to work with : (

also that book is so cool, i saw it once i was in hobbii, if i knew how to knit i would have bought it

Yeah same all of my crochet hooks are the cheap plain metal ones from chain craft stores. Some of them are colourful and smooth but the colour wears off, some of them are like a weird matt finish which I hate, it feel almost nails on chalkboard-ish, don't like it. Some of them do have handles but they have like a weird ridge that snags and it's really annoying. I don't crochet as much as I knit anymore though so I'm good with the ones I have.
I have a lot of needles though, I have these two from knitpicks, the metal one is the bane of my existence right now I HATE IT they have these weird ridges in them, like those 3d postcards from back in the day that make them not smooth which defeats the purpose of metal needles I don't gET IT. The colour also wears off on them, they're overall very annoying, not a fan. The wood ones are good but I feel like the vanish is already wearing off, plus the metal part gets like, hazy? I'm not sure what it's called in English, it gets like this weird layer on it that makes it look cloudy and makes it hard to read the number. It's not that bad but it's just kind of annoying. 


Then there's my Lykke needles that arrived today so obviously I haven't tried them yet but I love them and they're my favourite thing I own now goodbye.
