I still want answers here. If you're white, and you just can't be bothered to use conditioner or brush your hair, and it naturally matts in a way that looks similar to dreads (ie it doesn't look like a fucking mat), does that mean you're racist? Because that's what it seems like to me when you discuss it, and it's hilarious.
white hair matting naturally doesnt look so similar to dreads that anyone who actually knows what dreads are would mistake them for dreads
show me the difference
i'm curious
i am too, bc i'm pretty sure my hair does look like dreads

how does pox hair dread if it's not matted together?
The curls "lock" together.

I feel like this whole argument is going around in circles. I made one google search and had this completely explained to me - why are you so ignorant people? o.o

I wouldn't call myself ignorant for saying that a hairstyle isn't "owned" or "belongs" to a specific race.
It's ignorant to ignore the fact that you wouldn't be sacked from your job for having dreads but a poc would be.

The bullying you described that you've experienced in the past, I experienced too - but that isn't the same as poc discrimination! It's bullying!
I am not ignoring that at all ???
And yes, It's discrimination, not just bullying.

white hair only naturally mats if it's unclean
no
mine does even if i wash it every day if i don't brush it properly or if i use too little condition
seriously
what sort of hell texture is your hair?? omg
pretty much steel wool except the "upper layer" if you get what i mean? like extremely damaged hair? only it's not damaged, it grows out like that

texture

but surely if it's left for years like it is a lot of the time it is just matted hair?

i agree tho leaving your hair to be filthy and clump together in a massive clump is not the same as dreadlocks

Is your hair really damaged, cause damaged hair matts more easily
if so it grows out really damaged

One thing I wanted to ask, doesn't hair matt when it's a mixture of not brushing and washing?

Cause I don't brush mine as I loose my curls and just get frizz, I only brush it right before I wash my hair to make it easier to wash - yet it doesn't matt? Unless I'm missing what matting is, as mine does become thousands of knots :/
