You truly seem like you do already think you know best, even if you’re looking for advice like,,, being arrogant doesn’t mean you can’t ask someone’s opinion automatically but it can factor in the way you choose to respond to the advice you get also. the problem is that nobody here knows me as well as i know myself which is why i need to correct you when you call me arrogant etc. it's FINE that you don't know me. you don't need to know me or my "other flaws" as you pointed out before, because this thread is about something that i'm very self-aware of which is my potential lack of empathy and i'm looking for advice to improve that and become more empathetic.

it's like someone going on the internet to ask for name advice for their new puppy. only the person asking for the name advice knows the personality and looks of that puppy. they are more suitable for naming that puppy so it wouldn't be wrong of them to ask others for name suggestions. i don't think that person would be arrogant for not wanting to choose one if the suggested names if those names weren't suitable or appropriate according to them. does that make sense to you?
