Even before choosing my profession, I've never been bothered by gore 
I guess I have a morbid curiosity about something that none of us can avoid

You're such a sweet person. I used to be repulsed with human gore but not out of empathy... I was terrified of those things happening to me LOL. Dead animals was w/e

After years of self harm I have desensitized myself to gore tho... so I guess something good came out of that terrible habit. (Fyi I havent done it in like nearly 9 months so)

I agree. I try to use trigger/content warnings when discussing traumatic things or referring to stuff related to mental illness/self harm/substance abuse/eating disorders. I dislike that the concept has been watered down tbh.
