@GvcciGoddess lmfaooooo i literally spent two years believing i had BPD so yeah im a living example of autistic women being misdiagnosed.. the masking thing i mentioned is more common in females which makes female autism harder to detect but tbh i feel like masking itself should be detectable because it is not the same thing as interacting with understanding, it's imitation.. like if sociopaths are known to imitate socially acceptable behaviour then y arent we lol

also AGREED. autism is clinically referred to as a hidden disability and like.... i dont see anyone claiming that one physical disability is the same as another
I think, with my best effort to not sound rude lol, its pretty easy to detect when someone is masking? Or mby I have a wonky view since I wouldn't know abt the ppl making unnoticed, but I feel like most ppl r pretty good at just, noticing when something isn't 100% within the normal standards of behaviour. I feel like sometimes I meet ppl n something just feels off abt them, not like omg they r autistic but I def notice smth isn't "normal", they might not even be aware themselves tho. Hmmm

what even is the 100% normal standard of behaviour tho... that could be affected by SO many things that aren't autism. even just someone having a bad day or goin through grief. i dont rly like to see it as "autistic = abnormal" cause the amount of WEIRD PEOPLE (MEN) OUT THERE WHO ARE ALLEGEDLY SANE AND HEALTHY MINDED............ doesnt add up

Also the reason for the ppl that don't understand why nobody wants to b with them, I think mby, most ppl seem to b put off by ppl acting "weird" uhh, but the person might not b aware they r acting like that most of the time
me thinking out loud rn but now I need to go to the store

Its not set, but its just something u notice tbh, its not so much abt ppl having a bad day or behaviour like that, just more so how a person acts in general, but its hard to explain tbh. It can b miniscule telling points tbh

could also just be cultural differences but ill agree with u to some extent because my brother is blatantly autistic and everything about him is .... yeah. not """normal"""

Yeah I don't think every autistic person acts weird or whatever, but I think ppl r offput by the weird behaviour (socially) cus its harder to relate to or predict neurodivergent behaviour when ur neurotypical. Obv it comes down to the individual, but most often I feel liek I don't tend to lean towards the ppl that act outside the norm (socially, not their actions or opinions) because of that (I get more unsure in social situations when its harder to predict behaviour or stuff liek that), online its less of a problem tho
not like I go omg I can't talk to them if they act like that, just, yeah

Ive only seen others mention here and there that she talks a lot abt autism lol but i havent directly seen those threads myself so im not very up to date. The only thing i know is that she apparently has some hot takes on autism or whatever based on ppls reactions but idk.

its completely understandable that u get frustrated and defensive when ppl just blatantly invalidate and question something that personally affects u everyday. Like its hard to NOT feel offended by certain things. Ppl who shame others for feeling offended by controversial and provocative things are just trying to act tough and edgy like damn let ppl have feelings

Yeah, probably if somebody from like america or whatever came here, they wouldn't think ppl were acting normal as a whole even lol

from my understanding autistic women learn masking and how to adapt socially from a very early age so it is deeply integrated into them and becomes second nature. Like im pretty sure masking is something thats literally human nature and everyone learns it and does it, its just that it takes more effort and energy for autistic ppl to socialize. Like it mentally exhausts them and drains them so they need a lot of time to “recharge”
