I guess when I hear commission I think of someone asking me to make them something and giving it to them.
I rarely, if ever exchange a physical piece of my art for money.
I more get paid for the activities surrounding it

I'd never have gained the skills to share had I not practiced the craft, which society still saw as useless in the time it wasn't making me money lol

this thread isnt about "wow artists are useless" its about how it is a service that benefits from capitalism and exists because of different social classes
