I really dont understand why in the US and some other places continue to prescript adderall or similars. Like i've seen videos of people under the influence of adderall and i dont really think it is good for the body and the brain, it feels like they are on drugs.

I take Rubifen and it works quite well, but you need to take it everyday. I was diagnosed when I was 9 and honetly if it werent for the medication (and of course hard work) I wouldn't have been able to go to uni. Now I take what my neurologist calls a "baby dose", as little as possible, and I'm doing quite well at uni. And of course I dont have big tick problems.
I mean, ppl take amphetamine as a recreational drug too so

I'm also super worried about my blood pressure because normally it's low, or perfect, and when I was at the pain management clinic the other day, it came out as pretty high! and it was my first time having my blood pressure taken since starting meds (but I was only about 3 days into them)
but they used a blood pressure cuff that went on my wrist instead of my upper arm, and I feel like that cannot be as accurate.
It is normal is you are taking meds, dont worry. You are probably going to have fatigue more often if you do sports, or at least that happens to me because of blood preassure.

people with ADHD have way higher rates of substance abuse because of self-medicating and/or chasing after dopamine because we just lack it on our own lol

Still I think it is too much. I prefer mines that are not an amphetamine derivative. But well whatever works for people the better
Fair enough, I'm on dexmethylphenidate myself (Focalin). Just wanted to point out that it's very likely the videos are either someone was overprescribed or someone w/o a diagnosis got it illegally and thought it'd be no different than drinking a cup of coffee or caffeinated soda.
Yeah I guess so, peopel use it as a drug sometimes, dont know why honestly, I cant imagine how big that must affect a normal functioning brain. I'm also on methylphenidate.
Yeah, I did a whole research paper on it for med term back in hs. #1 it's highly addictive. That dependence neurotypicals get will lead to them needing a higher dose each time. Eventually NTs can experience psychosis from it.

No. ADHD can be comorbid w/ a tic related disorder or if you're on Adderall it could be a side effect.
that's what i thought
i use methylfenidate i think the right translation would be? i think thats the dutch adderall but im not sure

- nvm its another kind of medication, instead of increasing dopamine it decreases the breakdown or smth
Methylphenidate/Dexmethylphenidate is Ritalin, Focalin, etc...
Adderall uses Amphetamine or Dextroamphetamine.

Dw mods I'm not talking about breaking bad

I'm also like, I don't wanna say "disabled" necessarily, but technically I guess I am, and I can't at this moment get the kind of physical activity I need to manage the heart and blood pressure aspects of the new meds
at least not until I get my pain under control

I read someone describe ADHD brain as a bucket with a hole in the bottom where all the dopamine leaks out, and the meds are just a piece of tape haha
I was like "yes this makes sense"

Yeah, if I dont take mines I feel horrible and my head feels like is going to explote. Im so glad I've never needed a higher dose since my diagnosis, cant imagine how it must feel for people that takes more than 50mg a day.

Same, extreme fatigue + headache if I miss. We still get that dependence, but we shouldn't need to continuously raise the dose.

Yeah I feel like we mostly get icky physical feelings that are just bad enough to remind us "hey you forgot your meds" haha

how would you describe the feeling of lacking dopamine and the consequences this has on your life - if that's not too personal to answer? i feel i struggle explaining this

I mean I dont know your particular case, but  dont think you could name it as "disabled", you'll get used to it, dont worry. I just hope it helps you and hopefully you wont need to take them the rest of your life, or a very long time.

Idk amphetamines for adhd is a hit or miss I think, some react less (don't get "high" on normal doses) while others react just the same as normal ppl. I think I would just feel like shit tho if I went on adhd meds cus I feel so bad the day after but I think I take way too much like 1-1,5 grams a day and assuming a purity of 30% iss gonna b 300-450mgs a day which sounds like mby just my brain broken lol
