things i feel are good, if not even better, getting second hand include childrens sports equipment including bikes and skiis cause theyll outgrow them anyway, video games (pc, xbox, playstation, swwitch etc) that dont have codes or keys making them limited to one download, video game consoles, other working electronics, books, brand name stuff which u can get for so much cheaper (including but not limited to belts, scarves, wallets, watches etc)
and anything still new with tags, which there is A LOT OF on online second hand markets

feeling like ill have to specify "if they are in good and working condition ofc" but then again thats a given isnt it, you wouldnt buy the one faulty or broken item out of the bunch at a regular shop either so why would u buy something broken faulty when ure thrifting for someone else 🤨🤨 the second hand shop i worked at was super picky abt what we sold, every electronic was manually tested and everything was washed and cleaned, broken items or things missing a piece was rejected.

do you gift/have you gifted someone used/thrifted/second hand gifts for christmas
No.

have you received used/thrifted/second hand gifts for christmas
Yes lots of thrifted gifts from my family since we've never had a lot of money.. I don't mind at all. It's the thought that counts. As long as the item is clean and not broken. One Christmas I got a "designer" table from my aunt in white and some thrifted Sherlock Holmes items from someone else. I liked the thrifted present way more than the brand new designer table, because even though it was "used", at least it showed that the person knew me and had spend a lot of time thrifting for something that I loved. The white designer table I had to give away in the end because all my other furniture was black and it didn't fit in at all  I also got a pair of earrings one year even though I don't have holes in my ears. I guess I really don't care whether it's new or used as long as 1) it's been cleaned and isn't broken 2) it's something that shows they thought about me and didn't just buy something because they had too.

are you opposed to gifting somone used/thrifted/second hand gifts for christmas - if yes why
Depends on the person and whether or not they themselves would take offense to it.

Not at all.

no to all, but it depends on what it is? i wouldnt get someone second hand clothes for instance, maybe on a normal day but not for a birthday or for christmas, that would feel a bit off to me but im not sure i can explain why

books, cups and plates and so on would make great gifts tho, especially if it's something thats hard to get or no longer being produced

Second hand clothing is awkward to gift if it isn't their style or size.

i think clothing is awkward to gift regardless  the only redeemable thing abt being gifted new clothing is it usually comes with a byttelapp whatever that is in english (exchange voucher?? no clue)

That's true ! I hate getting clothes I specifically haven't wished for as well tbh.
