what's weird to me is all the cutesy shit like 'making all the alters in the sims' and making fanart of them.

like you'd think they would make more videos about how hard it is and not like... make it look so fun honestly? like that's odd to make videos where your disorder looks like fun. there's no other disorder where people on youtube make videos where it looks fun. like people who have schizophrenia or bipolar or depression sometimes make youtube videos of how scary and hard it is for them but they never make videos where it seems like fun.

and one of the key components of it is supposed to be amnesia but none of these youtubers seem to have that aspect of it.

seems logical to me with the amnesic walls and all that. tbh i didn't believe it when I first found out about it either, but even when I didn't entirely believe it, i'd never assume anyone is faking/crazy/attention seeking cause that could be extremely damaging if it turned out to be real. now i completely believe it, i've read a lot about it and seen a lot of videos, and it really does make sense

We're the audience, whocan observe and can form our own personal opinion based on what we see. It's not like I would  straight up tell anyone I believe they're faking, but it's VP and I don't think it would cause her any harm what I say here lol.

she's chosen to be a public person now, so that whole damaging if it turns out to be real angle doesn't really apply that much, as everyone who's watching her videos are gonna have some form of opinion on it.

there's also been a pretty big influx of people legitimately faking did online in the recent years too. I'd say most people who claim to have did actually don't at this point.

that's not how i see it as tho, i think its more to show how the alters "actually" look like to people

and she has a lot more kind of videos than just fun videos, the channel is there to educate after all
she has also said in her videos that you need to have amnesia to be diagnosed with DID so it would be stupid of her to say that if she didnt actually get amnesia herself

I think its less abt making fun videos and more about not making it seem so "dangerous" for others, like the misconseption is because of movies like split etc, not taking away the serious aspect of it but making it easier to talk about and less stigmatized.
