i love lana for being partly responsible for this song
x

but yeah also lana and tumblr was a great vibe back in 2012-2013 imo. i've never been a real lana fan but i always listened to her music unironically and i'm hella nostalgic about the whole deal back then. probably my peak in life lol
Ok this is now on my playlist

yes its amazing. But tbh i wouldnt suggest anyone whos like under the age of 19 to read it cuz tbh younger girls tend to misinterpret it and fall for the narrators manipulation and romantisize it

Fun fact lolita was literally only written by nabokov as a huge flex to prove that he was so good at writing that he could make the most derranged and disturbing and gross topics and characters sound beautiful and sympathetic

I read something about Lana. Just wanted to point out that her songs aren't that good, and some songs have really questionable lyrics and themes

Lana was one of those girls that misunderstood the whole ass meaning and message of lolita and viewed it as a love story

It's already worrisome that an adult can mistake ped*philia and grooming with a love story

Pro tip: if it is boring to read, get the audiobook. Same story, much smoother.

like you guys know this book is supposed to make you uncomfortable right

its supposed to put you into the shoes of a horrible person and make you sympathize with a monster- which of course would make any decent person feel sick

its supposed to help you understand the ways that people can do mental gymnastics to beleive that theyre still a good person even after commitng the most horrific crime imaginable
Yea but its good to warn people who it might make too uncomfortable
yea survivors of CSA shouldnt read it if they havent had some serious therapy- or really shouldnt read it at all theres no reason to.
Im a survivor of CSA and i can kinda agree. Its super triggering but it also kinda helps me heal to read about these things idk it just gives me a bigger understanding of my abuse and trauma and helps me allow myself to actually delve into those feelings and all the hurt that i have a hard time dealing with and acknowledging and its important for my own healing to let myself go thru all the emotions im constantly repressing
