Also what's the take on plastic surgeries conducted because of gender dysphoria, or is this covered by the alleged "mental illness" part allegedly?
i personally will not give my opinion on that
but with mental illnesses i refered mostly to body dysmorphia
By not stating your opinion I think you make your opinion on it clearer than what you would like but by all means, each to their own although it's allegedly not something I agree with.

Feel ya, I get the point when they mean all well and want people to accept their body. But still feels somewhat hypocritical when they alter their looks with surgery etc.

Idc what ppl do with their looks. Only wish ppl don't undergo plastic surgery to feel better abt themselves esp if they're insercure - that's rather unfortunate solution to ease their distress with their own appereance.

but isnt that the reason why ppl go through plastic surgeries? to feel better with themselves?

you can not preach about something you do not follow yourself
is like if i tried to preach about veganism while im a meat-eater
this is honestly dangerous and judgmental thinking. before i turned vegetarian i preached vegetarianism.
you can follow the belief of body positivity but still make changes to your appearance. it's like saying you cant use makeup for the cosmetics either

there are also many people who did make drastic changes to their appearance that deeply regret it. do they not get to preach body positivity? because of some dumb decisions they made when they were younger? cause i personally think their opinions on the matter of body positivity is very important cause they know what its like to want something else and actually do something about, something most of us can only dream of
still, you can not preach about something you dont follow. its hypocritical, imo

n its totally different to preach about body positivity and talk abt something you regret, in this case plastic surgeries and encouraging others to love themselves for who they are, than someone who is constantly (?) getting plastic surgeries
"my point is that. you can strive to improve your own image without condemning the one you already have, right? like you can get a nose job without hating your nose. you just want a different nose. and you wouldnt mind keeping your old nose but you had the money and opportunity to get a nose job so you did. thats my stance anyway"

did you read this? cause this sums up my thoughts basically. feel free to disagree obviously

Not always. I've gone through plastic surgeries because on the long run they would have caused physical problems for me. It's hard to explain. But the doctors still call them plastic surgeries.

I find it interesting that plastic surgery is believed to be solely based in insecurity. What about trans people using plastic surgery to pass? What about people who use it as a form of body modification? If I get a tattoo or dye my hair does that mean I'm dissatisfied w/ my body? Hell, what about plastic surgery for medical reasons?

Also just because you struggle with something doesnt mean you cant condemn it. Saying people shouldn't is an appeal to hypocrisy.

I get it but they are still what people call cosmetic surgeries, so...

i think you should have rather said cosmetic surgery because this includes dysphoria surgery and the topic is digressing, unless you also meant to comment on that ?

That girl who turned herself into a living barbie doll or the person who became a genderless alien technically had plastic surgery but it seemed more like an aesthetic choice, a body mod, and not an insecurity thing

Idc, if you think you look better with a new nose then you're positive..about your new nose. Just make sure you like it because only insecure incels believe in the golden ratio.
