That's interesting! I think there should be a more clearer understanding of whats culture appropriation and whats culture appreciation but it'll always be disagreements so I don't think it would ever work out like that
it is! i myself just wouldn't take that "risk" even tho if i knew the majority would be happy to see ppl embrace their culture, bc there will probably always be japanese (or ppl of another culture) out there who wouldn't see it as okay.

wearing a kimono is fine as long as ur wearing it the traditional way lol and ur actually interested in the culture, not just bc its pretty

actually most japanese natives dont care because they like the recognition of gaijins interested in japanese culture whilst anglo born japanese care more about these stuff bc of weebs, kimonos being sexualized, calling those kimono print patterns on cardigans calling it kimono lol

but yeah i wouldnt really feel comfortable wearing clothing from other cultures as well even if its seen as ok
