i feel like people are reading too much into stuff like this. like... just live and have fun as long as you dont hurt anyone... and if you get hurt by someone using a bunad or whatever when theyre just living their life and isnt trying to hurt or mock anyone. its your problem
i think as long as the intent behind wearing it isn't like haha costume funny it's fine, if people think things are pretty just go for it honestly
the culture surrounding bunads is so new anyway

wear whatever, you don't have to be a part of the nation to appreciate and enjoy it.
it's a problem if you try to impersonate someone you're not

I think it's like a non bavarian person wearing a dirndl, right?
Wait that's what they are called? How did I never know o:
yeah, even though they have been commercialized to death at this point so eh, maybe it's not 100% comparable.

Not sure if I'm allowed to answer this, since I'm no norwegian. But as I see it, it's similar to the discussion of i.e wearing a kimono or yukata in Japan.
It depends on the intention and the use. If it's to appreciate a culture I'd say it's fine, but if it's just to dressup or in any way mock a culture then no.
Let's say you're wearing the Bunad because you want to celebrate Norway day with the Norwegians, I think that should be allowed at least if you're in Norway to do so?
if you're in norway yea, my father is german and has lived here for like 20 years and has no intention of ever leaving, my mother is gonna make him a bunad eventually
but the same variation as her then obviously, not a random one
Yeah, I agree with that very much. You get a relation to countries you live in, so it makes sense to want to show that sort of appreciation especially when tradition is to wear the bunad for your official day.
definetly, it's cool, expensive as hell tho so you might wanna get a festdrakt since you probably don't have anyone to inherit it from lol

It should be comparable but you're right they have been over commercialized unfortunately

True words, very nice.
I keep reading the new user as fibromyalgia. I think you may have misspelled the plant name. Unless it's a joke or something in which case I don't get it.

U can wear the same one as mine
Grafferbunad is for everyone bc its considered a fest costume, alas not linked to a particular region like most bunads.
