Everything I've read in the thread so far screams "ADHD" so I'm not surprised.
I was diagnosed with ADHD when I was ten. Considering ritalin made me restless, impulsive, hyperactive, an insomniac and gave me nightmares I think I was misdiagnosed. Caffeine also makes me prone to panic attacks if I over-due it.
It's very likely you were misdiagnosed so you're probably right to think that.
I have ADHD myself and I just have an easier time concentrating and focusing on things when I take my meds.
That's why when I read your little story on his reading issues I started to suspect his case was ADHD.
It's hard for people with ADHD to focus on long text usually. I have that problem, but for me it's only with school textbooks.
I've always been more of a book smart than street smart person.

My sister was diagnosed with ADHD and medication made her act like a zombie. She was so calm that it was creepy and she got weaned off of it. I'm positive she was properly diagnosed. Considering medication made me act almost manic like, I've got no clue what my shrink was thinking.

as for my ex short notes/posts were ok but novels were difficult for him. He also had problems spelling. Dyslexia would make sense.

I don't have the credentials to say this, but I did take 1 semester of Pharmacy Tech. Anyway, ADHD meds can make someone without the disorder have symptoms of psychosis. So that makes a lot of sense.

I don't even have a college degree so no sweat! I do know that my reaction to stimulants is atypical of people with AD(H)D so I would think it makes sense I don't actually have it.

I don't reveal this to most ppl (this is why I love gsm) but apparently my school when I was 8 thought I had an ASD and my mom took me to a psychiatrist after a follow up eval with a neuropsych. I was really anxious during those sessions. I was 9 around this time and I jumped out of a chair to grab a toy out of a shelf.

"Do you do that when you're in school?" "No." Which was true. I was actually a very obedient, studious child. Talking too much was the main problem my teachers had with me. I wasn't the type to run about much. I could tell I had done something wrong and sure enough I was prescribed ritalin. Absolutely ridiculous. I went off the rails and I was really scared to say anything, but my mom noticed so I was weaned off of them and we quit going to the psychiatrist. (:

omg he actually just attempted to video message me apologizing and mentioning wanting to be my friend. I am skeptical he's matured but I will entertain it.

FYI I have no vendetta against him. We both made mistakes but nothing was resolved. He's just very immature for his age. I'd be fine remaining friendly with him if he would work things through with me like an adult but I'm not going to give him the time of day if he won't. (:

I will never not laugh at his derpy moments though.
