I saw it a few days ago and I'm just done with blaming people for existing. Like it's fine to educate on issues and situations like this but I am done doing it on behalf of other wide demographics like "skinny" just bc fucked up industries have advertised that that's the ideal of this era, and it's not even healthy like when can we just stop and put that energy into real actions like calling out the companies and industries for not being inclusive.
Also i am just particularly done with this on a personal note bc for me it builds on the same issue it tries to resolve, that skinny people are being praised for being skinny which totally erase the potential traumatic existence of that side of the weight spectrum as well
its baffling to me how otherwise well read and articulate ppl, who normally has a nuanced view on being viewed as shit by society just... throws fat ppl under the bus.
ok, we can spend all day arguing about whether or not it fulfills the criteria of opression, but the core of the problem is that it isnt ok to be mean to ppl because they are fat. why is that so controversial?
like, why cant we accept that it obesity is bad but that it isnt a personal flaw?
Nice burn 👌🏻
