Yesss, I think I'll buy it next week
Gotta finish Illuminae tho, but im struggling getting through it oof
How is the multimedia in it working? I've heard it is told through different types of texts and letters and such
I thought it would make it quicker to read, but its the opposite for me aaa
i do like it, i just find it difficult to understand the story sometimes

It took me a few pages (around until page 20) to really get into the book. It has an immersive setting, and it being most likely foreign to the majority of readers (on historical terms) it took its time to introduce some important aspects of the book. The descriptions are also amazing and really paint a believable picture. Layout-wise, I like that it has fairly bold letters so it isn't tiny. It made it very comfortable to read.

major spoilers until page 72.

If you pay attention, you'll probably notice that the book has various takes on gender - there is a character that is "neither male nor female." There is a female in what the main character is taught is a male profession. There are different understandings of what family means - the one you live with, and the one you acquire. There's also the main character, "the girl," who's only 10-years-old at the beginning of the book, who goes undercover as a boy at a monastery to survive and attempt to get away from her own fate of "nothingness" - as girls were worthless.
