i don't understand why you're trying to argue that fatphobia is bad while excluding obese people from it
where did i say that?
"3. 'fatness is inherently associated with being obese', yes... and it shouldn't??? u can be a bit bigger and healthy
but this is literally true?

Obese fat or normal fat 😭😭🙏
idk what terms u want me to use lmao. do i need to follow you and use chubby? why is your pov correct and mine isn't
I don't use chubby, but if I had to use another word than overweight for overweight people, I would use chubby.

I don't view overweight people as fat (and most don't), I view obese or morbidly obese people as fat.

You can just say overweight lol, or obese, so there is no confusion abt what group u r talking abt

i mean sure but i feel like i'd stumble into the same problem with another person. bc then they'd say 'well i want to use fat'

it shouldn't be "it's ok to be fat because it doesn't mean you're unhealthy" it should be "it's ok to exist regardless of your size and even if you're unhealthy because people inherently have the right to exist without being harassed for their bodies and your health is not the business of other people". n that's where i'm gonna leave that

What does this even mean tho
What does being big and healthy have to do with how you define being fat/if u say fat is the same as obese

Fat is not a medical term, its whatever the user thinks it means which is why its weird to even use it in discussions about weight

Using fat on a personal level is fine, but using fat as a descriptive term is just asking for confusion and people misunderstanding your takes

i mean i don't even feel like it matters in this context? obviously using fat was confusing so for that i apologize. but my point this entire time has been

1. people use health to excuse their fatphobia, harrassing people for their weight when it's none of their business. and i just showed that little comment thread because it clearly shows that the 'health' argument is a facade

2. bullying people is wrong even if they look ugly/unhealthy to u

which i think are very valid points

I think fatphobia vs skinnyphobia (?) Is kind of interesting tho. Because I find people more often to hate on fat (obese+) people (not overweight), but being fat seems in general more accepted to be healthy, and being underweight (anorexia problems etc, not naturally skinny, USUALLY) is seen as something bad and unhealthy. I know everyone loves to say "skinny is the standard, everyone loves skinny people, its generally accepted to be skinny etc etc" but its not accepted lol, and its not the standard and its not the ideal. The ideal is being a healthy weight with curves (hard for most people to achieve btw), not SKINNY.
lmfao not skinnyphobia. if it is so bad, why is that its never brought up in any other convo than when ppl are already discussing fatphobia?

also fatphobia is not only abt whats being viewed as "good", its about how nothing is catered to fat ppl - such as car seats, making their risks of dying in traffic, or the fact that medical issues in fat people is constantly overlooked leading to fat ppl recieving worse health care. its not about some shallow "oh they are prettier" metric, its about the fact that fat ppl die each year because doctors refuse to see them as more than fat ppl.
