No, how often do u hear abt any man being abused by a woman, compared to women being abused by men. Men don't tell anyone this stuff usually because they know they will be looked down upon or not believed, even more so than women imo
this is true. this is also partly because of the shame they will receive largely from other men. women too, but very much so other men.
Equal parts men and women imo, just depends on their social circle

I dont think its shame, but the feel that they are not going to believe him. Both men and women.
shame and ridicule yes, largely reinforced by the patriarchy. which is reinforced by men.

I don't get it though, what's your point, that because men are (maybe) the ones reinforcing the distrust in male victims that it's like, okay? That they deserve it or have it coming because they're also men? I know that's not your point maybe probably but what is?

im not finna debate u guys but i do believe her testimony and i think its really scary that a woman can win a restraining order against a man and then be sued by him for defamation. that's not good precedent for abuse victims of any gender. if you win your restraining order in court WHICH SHE DID you need to be allowed to discuss what happened to you without reprecussion for it. like does this shit mean my sister can be sued by the guy she got a RO against for her metoo posts on facebook? going to court like that would be retraumatizing for her and it makes me sick to think thats possible.
i also think the result of this trial sets a dangerous precedent for abuse cases. esp since US law very much relies on results from previous cases to pass judgement.
like whoever you believe this is bad precedent. this shit was already litigated and she won. it should be over.

and the standard for libel in america is like rediculous like this is a case that should actually be pretty impossible for him to win because of our right to free speech. like i can say whatever the fuck i want this is america. i can write articles and do whatever the fuck i want. he shouldnt be able to win this.

but he doesnt actually need to win the case  he just needs to win public opinion which is probably what will happen. he's probably going to lose the case but he's already won over the public. he got what he needed from this and that's liekly what the plan was all along.

kind of going on a tangent here but, this also ties in with how abby shapiro is treated by men. she's a conservative relative to ben shapiro whom we all love to hate. yet the way men who hate her react to her is by sexually harrassing her. instead of attacking her points, which is what you should be doing, they ridicule her appearance. and i notice it often with how the public treats women they disagree with. their appearance is the first laughing stock. and it's a testament to misogyny, how even in hatred ur physical appearance is more important than your actual points

no that's not my point at all. i'm saying that a large part of the reason why men fear coming forward is because of other men. yes women also can be victim-blamers, but since the patriarchy is upheld by men, and all the stereotypes that come with it (men always want sex), it is largely because of men that men fear coming out as abuse victims.

people dont actually care about abby shapiro they use her as a tool to harass ben. and he literally makes it so easy. of course this is a Woman as Object situation where she's like not her own person she's just a facet of a man's life. but its like not even about her it's about harassing ben.

i mean please  why the fuck did he say this lmfao this is hilarious

this tweet was fake right?

but yes, misogyny is often justified when it happens to be a woman we don't like.
