if history isn't the main aspect of the series why would they try to make it seem more beautiful anyway? why not just leave that out entirely? it seems half-assed to me

so yeah, again, artistic liberty. it literally depends on the creator and the message they want to send.
idk if it isn't a movie taking place in another world with a whole different history i still dont agree with them beautifying our historyFantasy wrote:

idk if you watched Anne with an E, but this series actually depicts everything quite well, esp the 2nd season with the black slums and how ppl behaved towards black ppl - so even tho the story didnt primarily revolve around historical events, they still managed to not make it seem like everyone was equal and everyone was happy yk
not necessarily, some are docudrama's which are supposed to be more realistic, but they are still dramatized. but sometimes ppl watch movies/series to just enjoy them, and maybe see a fantasy version of it. that's quite literally the purpose of a movie: escapism. people don't want to be reminded of the bad stuff.Koolaid wrote:
movies are not for historical accuracy purposes... we have documentaries for that. it's up to the director's choices what artistic liberties they want to take
