judging from what i learned when i studied psychiatry, yes, they do tell people whether or not they're intellectually disabled because it can be a very important thing to know about
+ those who also have an intellectual disability usually get diagnosed much earlier because school becomes way too hard for them already during the very early years

a huge portion of autistics actually have a below average intelligence, or an average intelligence
and by the way it's quite hard to actually define IQ in patients with autism, because they're prone to be on a lot of different levels at the same time (someone might be extremely good with maths but really, really bad with abstract thinking which is also something measured with IQ tests) 

uhm i wrote my graduation essay on autism because i didn't want to write it about bipolar or schizophrenia like everybody else lol
