the saddest most important part what everyone seems to be forgetting:
its DEFAMATION! Therefore if Depp is deemed or proven to be guilty in any kind of abuse towards Heard - he might lose the case. The percentage of defamation trials won is also significantly low.

Even if Heard has lied now 5 to 10 times? on the cross iit doesnt affect as much, since she is indeed a woman and the trial isnt held to figure out who is guilty of the abuse in their relationship.
Its about Depp suing Heard for an op-ed, nothing more nothing less.
also we're in america and freedom of speech is like super big there. so yea it's hard to win
like almost impossible to win this in america. he already lost a defamation case in europe. but he does not need to win the case. this isn't about the actual case for him it's about the PR and winning over the public again. he got what he needs from this.
Thats another thing winning the public over matters more than winning the case.
Glad his team got it through that the whole thing is filmed.
Still what kinda picture will USA give about their law system if and innocent man is deemed guilty and has to pay 100million USD to their abuser and perpetrator who hasnt even paid 7millions to a charity they vowed to do? I'm sensing a slight riot incoming..

it's gonna fuel the /rmgtow movement so hard and that's also what scares me. it's the perfect rage fuel for men who are already inclined to hate women

But yes this is definitely gonna change things. It's good that maybe more men who are abused will be believed, but maybe male abusers will get away because of this too and women won't be believed. This shouldn't have happened at all. It's just so tragic.

guilty of what it's a civil case. there's no guilt or anything he's the one sueing her. he's not on trial. that's not how this works.

i want to stress that many misogynystic men only need an excuse. their support of johnny depp is largely because it's the perfect mascot for their rage. it justifies their position on women and how they're not to be trusted. literally just check the r/mgtow subreddit

that's a far bigger issue than this. this is being treated as celebrity drama. it's gonna be used as an example going forward but it's not overturning roe v wade big news.
