We can't blindly trust anyone who makes an allegation. We need to look at all sides, gather all evidence and if there is enough to prove that person guilty (by a jury) then he is guilty.

That's not what I asked. What should we do in situations where somebody is accusing another person of a crime. What do we do if we don't have any evidence that proves that person committed that crime? Should he be punished for something we don't know for sure whether he did or not or should he be free to go?

I'm talking about after the investigation. They weren't able to find evidence to convict him of that crime.
