That's not what I asked. What should we do in situations where somebody is accusing another person of a crime. What do we do if we don't have any evidence that proves that person committed that crime? Should he be punished for something we don't know for sure whether he did or not or should he be free to go?
someone who's a potential threath, at least during the investigation, should not be free to go and hurt more.
I'm talking about after the investigation. They weren't able to find evidence to convict him of that crime.
What should happen to him?
ive answered multiple of your questions at this point, your turn, or this convo is good as done

I'm in favor for the death penalty for real rapists, child molesters etc. But you have got to remember that people lie all the time. Especially if there is financial gain to be had. We can't blindly trust anyone who makes an allegation. We need to look at all sides, gather all evidence and if there is enough to prove that person guilty (by a jury) then he is guilty.
Okay, let's look at all sides. There's one side, Michael Jackson's side, and then there are, what, 5 boys who've accused him of abuse? And then there's the undeniable fact that he would sleep in the same bed with preteen boys, which I guess isn't a crime but, my Gd.
He also paid 25 million dollars to settle the suit, which is very sus.
Please, if you're gonna spew bullshit, read this very short, not at all  time consuming list from vanity fair of the things we know for sure about the case.

Now I'd like to redirect your attention to this. Masterpiece? Monstrosity? I don't know, listen.

You're twisting my question to make it seem like I asked something else. That's not answering my questions.
Do you agree with me that if somebody is accused of committing a crime, but it turns out there wasn't evidence to convict him of that crime, should he be let go (after the investigation)?

This is old news to me. I have already read all about it and I came to the conclusion that MJ is not the person who he is being portrayed to be.

He is a weirdo for sure but not a child molester (as far as we know). You and I aren't detectives. The FBI already was raiding his house all the time but they never got anything on him. Didn't he say that he settled because that's what his team told him would be the best so he could continue touring? 25 mil wasn't a lot of money to him at that time. He just wanted to forget about it and move on from it because obviously it was very traumatic for him.

I guess we just have different moral values. How would you feel if somebody accused you of a crime you know you didn't do? There wasn't any evidence on you other than the "victim" making up lies about you. You had to be locked up for something you know you didn't do. That is horrible.

Imagine how damaging this is to somebody who has a good job, a family to take care of, etc.

I would feel that it's better to lock up people we know are guilty than to lock up innocent people. It sucks that bad people walk free, it really does. But we cannot start locking up people we don't have evidence to prove they deserve to be locked up either. The justice system is that way because the majority agrees with that.

I know that my life would be ruined if I was accused of something awful.

By the way you phrased that question I assume you mean that I wouldn't have evidence to prove that happened to me?
