never talked about that but ok
op used that as an example of diversity being wrongly implemented in a historical context.
but there absolutely were wealthy black people in england. while black immigration slowed down in the 1833, there still were a) people left from the slave trade b) black seamen moving to england.
there were black people wealthy in the context of their black communities in port cities. there were black people wealthy in the context of society otherwise, like pablo franqu, joseph hiller and sara forbes bonetta. even before the 1800s we find francis barber from the famous Somerset case of 1772 who made a phenomenal career in the navy - despite being black.
was talking more about despicting how the majority of black people in those times may have lived
i doubt it was the normal thing to see black AND wealthy people
it wasnt the normal thing to se wealthy people period.

history is a lot more diverse than yall think. read a history book. study history. you will be surprised. the whitewashing of history has lead people to believe that only white people fought in the world wars. it has lead people to believe that white people were the only people with success. if your main concern is accuracy of history, you shouldve been pissed a long time ago - and not about the implementation of poc in your movies.

not saying they were - just saying that ur view of black ppl never reaching any morsel of success before modern times is factually wrong.

I know that's not what you're saying but I feel like this is important to say, not all slaves were black, not all black people where slaves.

specifically talking about black people and slavery; obv there were other people who were slaves but specifically talked about black people
and again, obviously not every single black person in history has been a slave, but it was probably 1 out of 5000 who wasnt during times were slavery was more ~intense~
