Language is power, having access to the right vocabulary is power. As with any other country, the UK has a wide range of different dialects which greatly differ from each other. The way things have been done has lead to serious and noticeable problems for those who are "unfortunate" enough to not talk the right dialect. They've observed that as children begin at school, some children are automatically disfavoured by the system as they use the "wrong" terms for things, especially abstract concepts. RP English is just.. not it fam.

right they have a class system going on don't they, it's so weird

rp is the least interesting version of british, it still sounds nice tho, i forgot the word but you know, visually, just for the ears
