fair point but situations can still exist where it isnt the parents fault

fair point but situations can still exist where it isnt the parents fault
there are, but these are the exception rather than the rule, and more likely stems from the child having a restrictive disorder.

Speaking from my experience growing up with a narcissistic father that thinks violence is the answer here it's both ways 100%.
My dad grew up in a good family. My Grandpa was always the quiet, forgiving man I knew, and my Grandma did discipline them but not in the way that my dad thinks is okay and somehow my dad still turned out the way he did.
Growing up my older brother was difficult, but started out as kind and protective of me. He changed as a result of how my dad treated us. He was diagnosed with Oppositional Defiant Disorder by a psychologist and my parents couldn't accept that their choice in parenting was a factor in it.

Unless it's the one Karen I witnessed let her kid balance on a grocery cart while ordering and told me it was none of my business for saying she was gonna fall... then proceeded to let her climb onto our counter by the registers-
