my hot take is that the internet is actually super real and is a mere extension of real life and our interactions online matter exactly the same as our interactions do in person
mmm i would disagree especially on platforms that aren't explicitly connected to your "real life" identity i would say the most euphoric and liberating part of the internet is that it has nothing to do with your real life
like yes the internet is "real" and there are "real people" and consequences and things "matter" and you make "real connections" but my point was more the internet is just what you make of it it's basically the one medium of communication where you have near total control over how you present yourself so just go crazy with it
i guess it's sort of an attitude that can apply to offline as well but more easily applies to the internet but like ... what is there to be embarrassed about on the internet if a stranger is judging you? what are you going to do be mean to me online i will literally just laugh or log off
