just a question!! i've been wanting to get tonsils removal for years but i've heard it's really hard to get done and you need to really push for it to happen because they usually think it's better you keep them, is that like legit? is it that hard to get it?

I am SO the wrong person to ask that, since I went to a nose-ear-throat doctor bc I feel stuffed in my nose all the time and he checked my nose and then my throat and was like "NURSE OMG COME HERE AND LOOK THE TONSILS ARE HUUUUGE" and then he just sent the "remiss" thing to the hospital that was going to remove them and yeah I did not really have to fight for it but I know a lot of people have had to do that and like always ask me how I got them to approve

Ahhh, right. Yeah it's just like they don't mention if they're gonna put an intubation/endotracheal tube down your fucking throat which will cause you a lot of pain once you wake up. It's kinda weird, especially if it's your first time
for me, personally, i don't feel like it's the same thing it feels really violating (and gross) knowing they used catheters without any warning, however i don't know, might be the fact that i've been sexually violated before that i'm really disturbed lol

Why do you want to get them removed then?
i usually get really bad infections, last year i had three infections in like two months. now i haven't had them since then but 1. my tonsils are huge and it gets hard to breathe once i get sick and 2. i get really bad tonsil stones and i pick at them all the time to make sure they don't smell and it's really exhausting having to make sure they're empty all the time

I'd say that's a reason big enough for the removal.

Yes it was very unpleasant ... But then getting up to pee was also unpleasant

I mean, let's be real, you don't even get to decide who's in the room with you. Maybe one or two nurses will talk to you before the surgery when checking if you are the right person or not, but that's it.
That's the experience you sign up for when needing surgery.
