first time i did it i had half a bottle of wine with old kitchen scissors and it turned out fine, a bit funky but okay
idk what kind of hair type u have but easier on thicker hair, the mistakes arent that easy to notice

also worst case, you have someone straighten out what you cant reach if you want it perfect. its always a vibe when u kno youve cut your own hair.

a tip is to not cut it straight-straight. add layors as you see fit and cut upwards to thin out the bottom. idk if that makes a difference or just an imaginary one tho lol
i like your energy

and thanks for the tips!! i'll probably try this once i'm not tired as a snorlax
also i don't feel like taking a shower and cutting your hair and then not taking a shower should be a criminal activity. do you cut your hair while it's dry btw?
haha back at u!

yea thats prob for the best.
i always cut right before i shower, its hard to see how its going to look like with wet hair. theres also going to be hair all over and thats a bitch to get off without showering. so yep shower after!
and when ur doing it make sure u have a great playlist on that fits the vibe, cutting your own hair without fitting music is boring and makes the whole ordeal anticlimactic
i'd have totally forgotten the music if it weren't for you, that's lame of me.....do you have a favourite hair-cutting song?

actually the 4am part was (apparently a poor attempt of) a joke but you're right though, now is probably a relatively safe time to mess up my hair
Oh thank you for clarifying that! It was probably a successful joke for most, I just don't understand jokes! I was actually discussing this topic today and how this pandemic has been a good time to try all the haircuts we've been too afraid to try before, since now we can just stay at home growing our hair if it fails. What kind of hairstyle do you have in mind?
that's cool. i don't even have any particular style in mind, i just dislike my hair a lot and honestly i can't remember the last time i liked the way i look. i'll probably just try to make it look less dull and overgrown, and maybe i'll dye it again too. i just basically gave up on my hair when my ex ignored my advice on dying my hair and used so much of the purple dye that it left a permanent light green tint in my blonde hair once the other colours faded away
Ohh dying it would be fun! Cutting and dying hair at the same time has just different energy than doing just one of them. Full hair transformation just feels more fresh in my opinion! Do you have any ideas of what color you would want to dye it then, if you don't have any hairstyles in mind? Very cool that you don't have any styles in mind though! Gives you a lot of options!

i just need to make sure that i don't cut myself bangs right now because i just broke up and i don't wanna be a break up bangs girl. i've dyed my hair with a lot of different colours over the years and i still have some dyes left: orange, purple, pink, grey and dark green. i won't use the green though because i'll literally never get it out of my hair and i don't want to cut it all off again, i'm done with growing out hair that i shaved because i felt like it in the middle of the night...... idk maybe i'll mix a bit of pink and purple with conditioner and see how it turns out. i liked the grey hair a lot too but it's really hard to keep up

Bangs look so good though.. But very understandable! Although I do think that if you intentionally don't cut bangs after breakup then the breakup has the same power on you as it would if it made you cut bangs. So maybe the actual power move would be to cut bangs if you really want to and not let the break up affect your decision making in any way. If you are a woman, then people will always find ways to judge and hate you, no matter what you do. Anyways, my point was that I encourage you to do whatever you want with your hair! And pink and purple with conditioner sound so good! Good luck with your hair! I'm sure it will turn out good!
