It's actually ridiculous that ppl are acting like aa is the primary gold standard for treatment and to be wary of it is denial of a problem in the year 2021
Lmfao, it makes aa seem more and more creepy like they WANT it to work and it's the only way... it's weird blond faith
Aa works for a lot of ppl
It didnt work for mel Gibson
I mean I would go if I could drink b4hand
So I'll try other stuff
My friend is an LCSW and she specializes with addiction & recovery patients, and while she personally likes the AA lit, lots of her patients don't, but she can usually combat whatever their excuse is with another program.
If the program doesn't vibe with you, try something else, she recommends the virtual rooms bc if you don't like one you can move onto another more easily than local in person stuff.
The programs all get to the same point, just in different ways.
seeing a psych is a really good start, hopefully you got a good one. Do you see a regular therapist too? or is your psych pretty much acting as both
I like that you say "whatever excuse" that rings home lol
