I think I started hating him because of the writers, mostly.

Like they had introduced so many great characters by then that were still kicking and still they only focused on Dean. He got all the good lines and was kinda like the main character. I have nothing against someone being the main one but it feels kinda fucking dumb to put so much effort into different characters for 6-7 seasons to only end up with putting effort into just one of them in the end.
